I Got to Stamp!!

The Halloween decorations were put up, the weather was crappy, and I finally had time to do some stamping!! I've been so busy that I have not been able to get my "fix". Last night, I went crazy and got a bunch of cards done. I've even got my Unity Wednesday Challenge card ready to go. This one above is the single stamp from Unity - My What a Beautiful Tree. I made this one spooky, so, not so beautiful huh? :) The designer paper is from Basic Grey Ambrosia line and the sentiment and bats are from my Gina K - Spooky Silhouettes set.
These cards also have the Basic Grey Ambrosia designer paper. Aren't those butterflies pretty?? The Unity September Kit of the Month - Friendship. Love. Miracles has a butterfly with distressed dots in the design and Unity also has a background stamp Distressed Dots. I figured they'd be great together! I love the SU Ruby Red and Basic Grey together and they matched the designer paper perfectly. If you haven't figured it out yet, I enjoy making sets of cards and just changing up my design a little. Gotta use my stampin' time wisely. This card was the last one I worked on. This snowflake is gorgeous and is one of the stamps in the Friendship. Love. Miracles set again. The details on this little stamp are amazing and I will be using it alot!! I love snowflakes and this is by far the best!!

Cupcake Challenge #35

Had a little time this weekend, so I put this card together for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge. I used my new Gina K set Whimsical Autumn set. I colored the apples and basket with just a set of colored pencils. Used my silver gel pen for the nails in the basket and shaded in grey.

Batty

Had time to put together another card tonight. I've been wanting to use the super cute Oh Spooky Day! kit from Unity that I got last month. I love this bat!! I also used my worn grid background stamp for an added touch. The really tiny bats around the sentiment are from my Gina K set used in the post before this one. Hard to believe that Halloween is right around the corner and today is the first day of fall. Where did summer go???

**Edit: I almost forgot - if you like this little guy and don't want the whole kit, Unity is now offering many of their wood mounted cassette stamps from their kits as singles too. You can purchase them all by themselves now!! Check it out, they are adding more this week.

Casing Jennifer Buck

Jennifer Buck has just joined the "Dirty Dozen" over on Splitcoast!! In her honor, Angela with Unity offered up a challenge for this week to case one of Jennifer's cards for a chance to win some awesome Unity stamps. The card I chose from Jennifer's gallery can be found here. She is super talented and it was hard to decide which card I wanted to work. I've cased her before and most likely will again. This one uses the flowers from the Unity Kit of the Month for August. You can no longer get these stamps, but it is not too late to sign up for Septembers Kit, and let me tell you it is amazing!! Mine is on its way and I cannot wait to ink that one up!!

Another Challeng and a little "love"

The above card is my submission for this weeks Splitcoast Color Challenge (CC183). The colors this week were green galore, real red, and going grey. I used the Joy stamp from the Unity set Christmas Joy. It's hard to tell, but I glittered white on the top of the stocking, the bottom of the bulb, and the "candy can" part of "y".

This card was made using the new So & so loves single from Unity. This could work for an anniversary, don't ya think? There is so much that can be done with this stamp. I paper pieced the soft sky in between the trees to make them stand out a little more. Thanks for looking & have a great night!!

Verve OSW Challenge

Here is my 4 card submission for the Verve Stamps OSW (one sheet wonder) Challenge. I made a set of 4 thank you cards. I don't have any Verve Stamps so I used my Unity Kit of the Month for August. That set has these three pretty butterflies in it. This challenge was fun and there were no designer paper scraps left afterward. I may have to do another one. The DP was Eclectique Scroll from Chatterbox. It's a very bold pretty print with lots of color options.

BTW - did you notice, I now have my own watermark (thanks to Veronica again) for my photos!!

Moments........

Worked on this card last night and finished it today for the LSC on Splitcoast (Limited Supply Challenge). Card had to have a coffee cup and the color orange! I used the coffee cup from my Unity Magnificent Moments set and added some glitter to the steam and along side the sentiment. The background is the Distressed Dots background stamp also from Unity.

Personally I am a tea drinker! I love the smell of coffee, but just don't like the taste. Thanks for looking..........off to do some homework and housework! Going to try another challenge later if I get the time.

Big Non-Stamping News Today - The Stanley Cup!!

A couple of non-stamping photos to share today..........it was the first day of school for my little man Garrett. The dog knew something was up today and would not leave his side. He managed to get in to every photo I took. There is quite a bond between a boy and his dog and I can't get over it. Too funny!
After school, it was time to head down and wait in a very long line (which is a good thing) to get the opportunity to see Jimmy Howard and the Stanley Cup!! I'm a hockey mom - Garrett has skated since he was three and my husband Mike is a die hard hockey fan too. Jimmy is one of the goalies for the Detroit Red Wings and today was his day of glory with the Cup. He chose to have a public reception and let anyone interested have a photo opportunity. The line was long and I think that's great!! He is super nice guy and it is very generous of him to share his big day!! He even took a couple of hours earlier and took the trophy into the local schools for a few small assemblies. This is the highest honor in the game of hockey and he shared it with his hometown!! He is a very humble guy and will be back with that cup again, I know it!! Thanks Jimmy!!

Unity Challenge Wednesday!!

This is my submission for this weeks Unity Challenge Wednesday. In preparation for Hip Hop Thursdays with Unity Stamps, a bunch of us submit work using our Unity stamps to get geared up for Thursdays! This is a new set I just got on Monday called Humble Bloom. It was calling out to me to "ink it up" tonight, so this is what I came up with. The challenge was to use the Unity Stamp Co. colors plus one color or your choice. I've got my brown and turquoise and I picked very vanilla. Added a little glitter to liven it up! Head over here and check out the other submissions for this week, then stop back Thursday and check out the Hip Hoppin' goin' on!!

Madison's First Day of Kindergarten!!

Non-stamping entry today:

Today was my niece Madison's first day of kindergarten!! Isn't she a beautiful girl??!! Here she is with my brother waiting for the big day to start. They live down in Richmond, VA and I only get to see them a couple of times a year, so I get lots of photos via email. Got this one this morning - I love this picture!! She was anxious to get started which made the day much easier. My son was the same way, but that was not the case with some of the other children (lots of tears).
My little man starts school on Thursday - 3rd grade this year!! I'll post a photo of him then.

Mini Challenge

I was blog hopping today, and stopped at Jennifer Buck's place. She had a post about a challenge, a "mini" challenge she did with a few of the other Unity DT gals (AJ, Maren, and Amber). I really enjoy making smaller cards and the challenge was for cards smaller than 3.5" x 3.5". My set is 3" x 3" and I used the sunflower from the Unity ecoChic set. The designer paper is from the Harvest & Holiday Debbie Mumm paper pad now at Joann's. There are lots of cute papers in there and they were on sale for 40% off!
Check out these 4 ladies cards - they are super talented!!
