Catching up today....

Sundays - they are my finish up on homework and catch up days. When I get everything caught up, then I can dig out my stuff and do some creating.
This is a card I put together earlier in the week that I had not posted yet.
The stamp is from Unity Feel the Joy. I love this image.
The designer paper is Memory Box Sugardrop.
The tips of the stems are decorated with some SU! Dazzling Diamonds for an added touch.
The sentiment is PTI Mixed Messages.
Off to do some stamping - thanks for stopping by.

I was so busy yesterday, I missed it............my cards were put up on the

Cute Chick!

Here's a simple little Easter card made using the Stampin' Up! set A Good Egg.
I think this chick is so cute.
The egg is paper pieced to match the DP used. The pink plaid is from some open stock I got from Joann's. Not sure the manufacturer. The cardstock is SU! Regal Rose & Pink Pirouhette.
For some reason I'm really stuck on wider ribbons lately. I add a couple of square pink rhinestones to each side of the sentiment to complete it!
That's all she wrote!

Thanks so much.........

Here is a very quick simple thank you card. I recently ordered from Papertrey Ink's new release this month. I really like the flowers in the Life set. These stamps are clear and flexible making it possible to see better when you stamp over something you've already stamped. They also make it easy to curve your stems to the left or right like i did on these to make them look "branched out" a little. This stamp was just one stem that I stamped 4 times. Twice with full ink and twice stamped off.
The paper is also PTI, Pure Poppy. I layered it with some black and added ribbon and some paper piercing. Pretty simple.

Where did the week go???

Here we are again back at Friday. This card is for the regularly scheduled Hip Hop Hangover post. I got my new March Kit of the Month from Unity in the mail today - super excited. These kits just keep getting better and better I tell you.
Some Memory Box designer paper, SU! blush blossom, PTI Ocean Tides, and whisper white make up this one. I used my templates for some paper piercing and added some crystal effects (looks better IRL) to the flower. Another simple card.
Happy Friday!!

Birthday wishes.

Here is a quick and easy birthday card I finished up tonight. I recently ordered a few things from Papertrey Ink. The flower stems are from the new set this month - Life. The sentiment is also from a new set this month too. You may have seen this one before, but only smaller. PTI released Mixed Messages again............only this time its Mega Mixed Messages.
If you visit my blog regularly, you know how much I love and use the original Mixed Messages set. Well, when I found out Nichole @PTI was releasing the same set only twice the size, I had to have it. It is one of the most versatile sets I have and now..........its x2!!
The paper is also from PTI, it's Pure Poppy. I sponged some matching red onto Very Vanilla and added some ribbons and pearls. Quite simple, but turned out pretty I think.
That's it for tonight - check back for my HHH post tomorrow.

Recycle Wednesday

Unity Challenge Wednesday is here again. This week Sherry challenged us to recycle something into a card using Unity. I had been hanging on to the card above because I thought it might come in handy later on. It is a store bought thank you card from Hallmark that I recently received from a co-worker. It came with buttons and a matching envelope with flowers on the inside too.
Below is what I came up with!! I put some Lovely Lilac and Apricot papers with it. The background is Unity Polka Dots background stamp, stamped in Tangerine Tango. I added some color to the flowers and stamped "hello" and "friend" sentiments using my PTI Mixed Messages. Then I finished it off with some orange ribbon and white twine.
Not bad for recycled.

On the inside of the card, I took the inside of the envelope above and punched out the little flower images and tacked them to the bottom left of the cards inside.
I hated to see it go to waste and it made added a nice touch!
There you have it - my very first card using recycled material!!
Thanks for looking and have a super day!!

Wow, Friday Already!!??

Another quick, simple card here...........this one is 5 x 5. I used the SU! Tangerine Tango yet again with the matching ink on the Unity Distressed Dots background. The sentiment is from Unity Flirty Flowers.

The "buttons" are not brads, stickers, or anything fancy. I took my small hole punch and punched out 6 circles from a scrap piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock. I stuck them on with glue dots, then coated them with some Crystal Effects. These must be the cheapest embellishments I've ever used!! They turned out great and added just enough extra to the card, I think......

Enjoy your weekend!!

Hi there!

Just a quick post to show you a little card I made last night. This one is only 3.5" x 3.5". I used some of my SU! Tangerine Tango with Whisper White. The DP is from a Debbie Mum pack I got at JoAnn. The butterflies are from Unity KOTM for July and the sentiment is from PTI Mixed Messages yet again. I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter from SU! to parts of the butterflies for a little something extra.
I even tried one of my new paper piercing templates (see post below) and it worked like a charm. My photo editing has left a black dot on the top left that should not be there. Still need to get used to it I guess.....
Anyhow, hope you enjoy the rest of your night!!

Love me...

Here's that designer paper again!! I love this stuff - it's the Parisian Breeze designer series paper from SU!. I love everything about it - the texture, the color scheme, the patterns.

Okay, enough about the paper.........

The stamps I used were from my SU! Blooming with Love set. There is a cute little pot and the daisy stamp is actually separate. You can stamp one flower or a bouquet. I thought this set would be perfect for the loves me, loves me not thing. I think I was right!

I think this card came out cute!!

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink Mixed Messages (another one of my favorite things right now). Added some soft blue ribbon to complete the card.

Thanks for looking and have great day!!

It's Green This Wednesday.......

The challenge this week was to go green on your card - St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner. I used this flourish thingy again from my Unity Kit of the Month for January. I made it into the stem of my layered shamrock. The shamrock flower is made using the 3 heart paper punch from SU that came out in the last catalog and was a Valentine special. It's just 4 hearts layered with 4 smaller and then again with the smallest in white with some Martha Stewart glitter. The cardstock is Certainly Celery and Whisper White and the DP is Stampin' Up! from the Hand Drawn pack. Some random green ribbon makes up the rest of the card. That's it!! Be sure to check out the other ladies creations today!!

Paper piercing templates - cheap!!

I know this no new invention, and many posts have probably been done about it, but I'm still kind of new to all of this and wanted to share anyway. Hopefully this helps someone who has not seen it yet!
Anyway, I had seen the paper piercing templates for sale in a couple of places - they were basically plastic canvas squares that you can buy to make coasters. (Side note: personally NOT a fan of plastic canvas)
I have been wanting to add some paper piercing to my cards, but was worried about it all lining up and being perfectly spaced and was going to buy one of these coasters to try. While in the isle, I discovered the full sheets of plastic canvas and decided to purchase one of them instead. I actually bought one that had smaller holes/squares (not sure of correct terminology here). These spaces are smaller in the sheet I bought.
Then I simply took the sheet and cut it down to templates for A2 size, 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, etc. You get it...............now I have templates that fit all the cards sizes I make and I can simply place the template over the cardstock to pierce and not even have to move it!!
All for only $ .49!!!

TGIF

The title sums it all up.............TGIF!!
I'm glad this week is just about over - super busy and I'm very tired.
That could explain these 2 very simple, basic cards.
Both cards are on Gina K Pure Luxury cardstock - it is super heavy and great for card bases. Both cards were made using some Unity and some SU Dazzling Diamonds glitter.
The flowers above are all glitter and the "topping" of the cupcake has some glitter as well.
That's it really, pretty simple!!
Sometimes it's nice to put together quick cards like this. Makes me feel like I accomplished something!! :)

Wednesdays Challenge......

This week for our Wednesday Unity Challenge, we decided, in support of our friend Sherry (one of the Unity Addict Gang), that we would create a sympathy card. Sherry lost her mother this week and all of us have her and her family in our thoughts and prayers.

I let the paper do most of the work for me. I have to be honest - these are the hardest cards for me to make. This is the first one for me. The DP is from Memory Box and I got it from Impress Rubber Stamps. The butterfly is from Unity Butterfly Beauty set and I stamped it twice - once in Chocolate Chip and once in Certainly Celery - and then cut them out and layered them. The sentiment is from PTI Mixed Messages again. I don't have many sympathy stamps. I should probably get more.....it seems that lately my life is surrounded by sickness and death and as much as I don't like making them, sympathy cards are necessary. I know I'm not alone on this...... Pin It

Here is another thank you card - you can never have enough of these can ya??

I've been wanting to try one of these flowers for quite a while, and thought this paper would be cute to try it with. It's Stampin' Up! DP from the Delicate Dots pack.
This paper is in the Sale-A-Bration and is one of the items you can get free with every $50 you spend. It is double sided and there are lots of pretty patterns.
The paper matches with SU Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, and a few other colors. On the front of my flower, I added a random green button from my stash and put a rhinestone on top. The "stem" of the flower is actually the flourish from last months Unity Kit of the Months stamped in Certainly Celery; and the sentiment is from my PTI Mixed Messages stamped in Brocade Blue.
The flower is pretty easy to make, but I cannot remember exactly where to link you up for the tutorial. It was in Stampin' Up! Success publication too. If I find it or remember where I saw it, I will link up for you.

Simple cards for Monday....

This is a simple little get well card pair. I used your basic Kraft cardstock and added some of the really pretty Basic Grey designer paper from the Bittersweet collection.
The sentiments are from my favorite Mixed Messages from Papertrey Ink and they are on some Pretty in Pink cardstock on chocolate chip scallops.........added some chocolate chip gross grain ribbon from SU too!
That's it for tonight - just a quick post.
