Unity All Week, Day 2

Here is what I came up with for my second day in a full week of Unity! I altered a small white gift bag and some tissue paper to match. The cupcake, sentiment, flowers, and candles on the tissue paper are all from the Unity kit, Ginormous Sweet Cupcakes. This set is a must have!! And I must mention that this set is another one of Lisa Hetrick's amazing creations. I love her work and I'm sure we will be seeing more art by her at Unity!
I actually used the ribbon for inspiration on this one. I found it while I was cleaning tonight and really wanted to use it. I stamped the cupcake on some designer paper I had that matched the Tango Tangerine SU cardstock and ink I used. I took one of the candles from this kit and stamped on some white tissue paper to make it "match". Added a few rhinestones to make it pop a little - pretty simple! Be back tomorrow with more...........

Growing In Unity, Day by Day, All Week Long..............Day 1

It's my week............a whole week of Unity Stamps and creations!!!!
I am starting out pretty simply. Things have been so busy these past few weeks and it was nice to sit and stamp tonight, but I felt like keeping it to something quick and easy. Sometimes less is more and the simplest cards turn out quite cute. This is a very basic card using the Spunky Princess Set ,designed by the very talented Lisa Hetrick, for Unity. My niece has a birthday coming up soon and I though this was the perfect set to work with. I used my scallop square punch from Stampin' Up! with SU cardstock in bashful blue, lavender lace, and almost amethyst on whisper white. Added a star and some glitter with some sparkly white ribbon for that "little extra". There you have it!!
Don't forget - leave a comment because I get to pick a winner at the end of the week (there is no Hip Hop this week, so I'll pick on Saturday). That gives you all 5 days to post = more chances to win!
Angela offers up a free Unity single for the blog candy!
Gotta go think up tomorrow's creation, see you then!

Well, Christmas was a blur! The whole month of December has been actually. I know it is all over now, but I had a couple more Holiday cards to share.
Both cards have some Basic Grey Figgy Pudding designer paper in them.
Above, the snowman is actually from a stamp I got in the $1 bin
at Joann Fabrics earlier this season. I added a little ribbon and some paper pierceing to this one.
Below, the sentiment is from Impress Rubber Stamps again with some poinsettia dew drops I got from them too.
I have so many nice papers and embellishments for the holidays that I never got to use and now we are headed into the New Year.
I might make a few more cards to be more ready for next Christmas than I was for this one, not sure yet......

Have you seen this???

I was searching the Internet the other night for something and stumbled on this website selling this amazing cabinet. Have you seen this before? I so want one!! If you could see my house and how I have all of my stamps, papers, ink, embellishments, etc. stored, you would totally understand. I have a rather small house and not much room for my hobby supplies. This would totally solve all of my problems. I'm on a mission right now to save some cash to get me one of these units.
Just click on the photo above and it will bring you to the website.
They have a video demo of the product that shows all of what it is about.
Check it out!!

Merry Christmas to All..........

Just wanted to take a minute to thank all the visitors to my blog (I have over 4,600 hits since the end of April - Yay!) and wish everyone a
Happy Holiday
and wonderful New Year!!
Above is a close up of one of the cards, and below is the set. I made these 3x3 gift tag cards the other night with some of the scraps from my SU Ski Slope DSP. I love this stuff!! It's only available until January 18th, so if you are interested in any, let me know. Click on the Holiday Mini Catalog to the right to see all the patterns to this paper set.
Used it with some whisper white on Choclolate Chip and Baja Breeze card bases. The snowflakes are from my Gina K Magic of Christmas set. These snowflakes are some of my favorites. Added a little glitter and used my SU scallop punch - super easy!
This next card was made with my favorite winter sentiment. I got this stamp a few years back at Impress Rubber Stamps. This company is one I discovered a while ago, before I really got into stamping. I bought my first stamps from them. This was one of them. The paper is some Basic Grey Figgy Pudding I picked up. The card base is Baja Breeze and there is some Whisper White and Chocolate Chip in there too. Added one of the small snowflakes from SU Felt Flurries set and some brown organza ribbon for a finishing touch.

Again, I hope you all enjoy the holidays!!
My shopping, baking, and wrapping are all done, and I have the next few days off!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Funky, Flaky, Snowman

Here is a Christmas card I did a few weeks ago, but just now had time
to photograph and upload. We are getting hammered
with snow this weekend, so I've had some time to
catch up and stamp. It's been nice.
For this card I used my Funky Christmas set from Gina K.
Even the snowflake is from the set. I stamped it onto Kraft cardstock and then added some Stickles to the tips of the flakes. (It's hard to see in the photo, but looks really cute IRL)
The snowman is just colored with my colored pencils with some Stickles on his buttons too.
I used a couple of my snowflakes from my SU Little Felt Flurries set
and added the sentiment from my Papertrey Ink set
Mixed Messages . Tied some red raffia ribbon on to finish it off.
Well, off to stamp some more tonight! Thanks for looking!
***P.S. - It pained me to do this, but I had to add a year on to the age under my profile. OUCH! Yes, today was my birthday and I am now 39. Gonna hurt even more next year..........

Tiny Trinity for HHH

No, I did not drop off the face of the earth!
I've been wrapping up my college classes these past couple of weeks and busy with research papers and finals. They are now complete and
I am happy to report that I got a 4.0 in both of my courses.
Tonight was the first night I've been able to stamp in some time.
This little stamp - Tiny Trinity from Unity - has been
crying out to me since I orderd it a few weeks ago.
Anyhoo, this is the card I came up with for my
Hip Hop Hangover post. Enjoy!!

Unity Wednesday......on Tuesday???

This week, we have moved it all back a day due to Thanksgiving falling on Hip Hop Thursday. Wednesday challenge is up on Tuesday instead.
This weeks challenge comes to us from the very talented lady from across the "pond" - Carol. Requirements: red & white with a thankful sentiment. Easy enough......

I used my Unity Kit of the Month for November and the gratitude sentiment from the Unity Floral Fantastical Kit. The dotted background is from my SU Bitty Backgrounds set. Paper is SU Riding Hood Red and Whisper White. I added some flowers in the middle with white glitter and some red glitter around the outside of the frame. There you have it!
Don't forget, Hip Hop is happenin' on Wednesday this week!! See you there!!

Funky Snowman

Here is a Christmas card using the new release set Funky Christmas from Gina K. Isn't this snowman adorable? The sentiment is from one of the other new releases, Seasonal Sayings. These sets compliment each other nicely. Both are a must have!!
I used Kraft for the card base, some SU mellow moss & creamy caramel and whisper white. The DP is from the Basic Grey Wassail 6x6 pad.
I punched the snowflakes to match and used a little bit of Stickles on the flakes, the buttons on "the man", and on the little flake on the sentiment. It's hard to see them in the photo, but they are there. Most cards are so much nicer in person than in their photo.
Thanks for looking and have a great night!!

Happy Holiday Card............

Here is a card I put together this weekend. I cased a card I had seen on Gina K's blog A Day in the Life. I bought this Black Market DP from Gina K over two months ago and she pulled it out to make a card this past week. They are not your typical Christmas colors, but they work for some reason. I love the rich colors in this paper and it has wonderful texture too. It's hard to tell from the photo, but there is some silver glitter penned on there with a Gelly Roll pen. The sentiment is from the new Gina K set Seasonal Sayings, from her last release. This set goes well with the super cute Funky Christmas set also released. Thanks for looking!!

Stamp Simply #62

I was blog hopping the other day and came across a challenge on No Time to Stamp? It involved writing your sentiment on ribbon. I had been playing around with some yummy designer paper (Black Market) that I had bought from Gina K a while back, and put this simple one together. These colors look so good together, don't they? The sentiment is from the Untiy Kit of the Month for November (see post below). Put a couple of punched swirls in the corners for some accent. The paper is SU Glorious Green, Chocolate Chip, and Whisper White. Ink is Chocolate Chip. Back with more of this gorgeous designer paper tomorrow!!

Wednesday Challenge is here again......

Got my Unity Kit of the Month for November just in time for the Wednesday Challenge. This weeks challenge comes to us from Michelle. The colors were Really Rust, Certainly Celery, and Chocolate Chip. I have been dying to use this super cute tree!! It's a pretty simple layout, but I like it. I added a few dew drops and some contrasting ribbon and stamped the delightful sentiment up both sides of the tree. That's it! Make sure you stop by SCS Unity Forum for some super fun Hip Hoppin' on Thursday. Don't forget to check out the other Wednesday Challenge ladies down in the blog roll on the left!!

Little Snowman

Put this card together for Talyor's Cupcake Challenge this week over at Taylored Expressions. I dug this cute little snowman out that I bought years ago, its Mini Snowman from Stampendous. I believe I got it from Impress Rubber Stamps. I used my new Basic Grey Wassail designer paper (it is very yummy stuff). I keep looking at it, wanting to use it, and then setting it down afraid of running out. I know........just use it already. The other paper is SU riding hood red and mellow moss. Added some ribbon and punched snowflakes for an extra touch! Thanks for looking and have great night!!

Frosty, toasty, magical..........

Here is my submission for this weeks sketch challenge over on PCP (Paper Crafters Planet). The sentiment is from a stamp I got from Impress Rubber Stamps a few years ago. The snowflakes in the background are from the Gina K set The Magic of Christmas. The center piece of designer paper is SU Ski Slope. The felt snowflakes are from the set of Little Felt Flurries available for the holidays from SU (go to the right and click on the Holiday Mini Catalog). Added some bling to the snowflake and a bow to complete the card. That's it, pretty simple!!

Getting Punchy............

This is my submission for a little blog candy challenge over on Ann's Creative Nook, which I found over at PCP in the Blog Candy group. It sounded like fun to do something a little different. I took a snowflake punch that I had and created a Christmas tree out of the pieces. I used the SU Ruby Red and Mellow Moss, some ribbon for a stem and a bow on top - quite simple actually. The sentiment is from PTI Mixed Messages set. It was actually nice to sit down and put something together so quickly and easily. I think I will be making more of these types of cards - I have lots of different snowflake punches to try out. Thanks for looking and have a great week!!

Hip Hop!! Not so hungover.......

I did not get to participate much this week in the Hip Hop fun, but did find some time between work, hockey pictures, laundry, etc. to put this card together. It covers the color challenge over on PCP, the sketch challenge on SCS, and my contribution to Unity Hip Hop Hangover......phew! The color challenge was to use Riding Hood Red, Really Rust, Basic or Going Gray, and Whisper White. These colors matched so well with this DP from Basic Grey Ambrosia. The stamps used are from Unity Flirty Flowers. I "blinged" it up a little and stamped the dotted circles for an extra touch.

Unity & the Super Talented Lisa Hetrick

I just have to post this today............my "virtual friend" through the Unity Forum on SCS, Lisa Hetrick, submitted some of her designs to Unity Stamp Company and this set, GINORMOUS Sweet Cupcakes ,that she created was part of the new releases for Hip Hop Thursday! Isn't this set amazing!! I'm so excited for her and her wonderful talent! I'm pretty sure we will see more from Lisa at Unity - they are a wonderful combination!

Wednesday Unity Post!

We are back at Wednesday again and another Unity Wednesday Challenge. This weeks challenge was offered up by Tanis at Paper Princess at Play. She challenged us all to a card using the primary colors of red, blue, and yellow. I have to admit that this one has been the toughest yet. I don't do your basic red, blue, and yellow. Anyhooooooo, this is what I came up with. I varied a little and used the Lemon Tart from PTI (this cardstock is super heavy, love it!), Blue Bayou from SU (now retired), and a simple little red button. The stamp set I used was Humble Bloom from Unity - I stamped the bloom of one flower with Versamark Watermark for some background/DP. Tomorrow is Thursday - Hip Hoppin' all day long. Check in because Angela and the gang are going to change things up and as usual give lots of stamps away!!

Hung over yet again...........

Hip Hop Hangover Friday - just a little extension of Hip Hop Thursday. This card is a simple holiday card using the stocking from the Unity Bitty Christmas Tag Set and Beate's sketch from this past week (again). I love this holiday DSP from Stampin' Up!, it's in the Ski Slope set and is one of many pretty doublesided papers they have. Be sure to check out the Friday post on Unity and all the super talent there today. Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!!

Hip Hop Double Ribbon Challenge

Normally, I never get the chance to participate in the Hip Hop challenges on Thursdays because I am either busy with something else, or I am on the chat thread......not this week. I put this card together for the double ribbon challenge. This card was done on glossy white paper using my Versamark watermark ink to stamp the snowflake (from Unity September Kit of the Month) and then sponging on the blue ink. The colors are SU Night of Navy and Bashful Blue. The sentiment is from the Unity Bitty Christmas Tag set. Hop over to the Unity Forum for some chatting and giveaways.

Unity Challenge Wednesday!!

It's Wednesday yet again! This weeks Unity Wednesday Challenge was brought to us by the wonderfully talented Lisa Hetrick. Aren't these plates beautiful?? Lisa has an eye for art!! I love the challenge, but am not in love with my card. I decided to use my Unity Butterfly Beauty set for this one and focused more on the circle shape than on color. If you have the new SU In Colors, they would work perfect with this set. I used my Riding Hood Red and Baja Breeze SU colors and made the butterfly background using the Riding Hood Red ink too. Don't forget to stop by the Unity Forum on SCS for some Hip Hop fun on Thursday!!
