Yay..........it's Friday!!

TGIF!!!! Really.......it's been a crappy week - work wise. Glad the weekend is here. This is my Hip Hop Hangover post - even though I missed Hip Hop. We messed up on the due date for my son's book report, and had to do some cramming to get it done on time.I put this card together using the Parisian Breeze paper from SU yet again. Have I told you I love this stuff??? (A sample of each pattern is shown below.)The stamp is the little mushroom house from Unity's February Kit of the Month .Cute huh??? In addition to the DP, I used kraft, whisper white, and chocolate chip. It's hard to see, but there is glitter on the scallops and some on the 'schroom'. I paper pieced some of the DP into the image and even added some Crystal Effects to the window.

A quick card........

Here is a quick card I put together last night. I was inspired by the ribbon on this one. I found it in my stash and realized it matched the new DP from Stampin' Up! I've been using this week. The Parisian Breeze Specialty textured paper they have out.
This was a super easy card.
Sometimes it is nice to put a quick card together like this one that doesn't require too much thinking. Clean and simple are my favorites.
Thanks for stopping by!!

More get well wishes..........

Here is another get well card using the new Parisian Breeze Specialty DP from Stampin' Up! that I got this week. It is beautiful, high quality paper. Like I said in my earlier post today - I will be ordering more, so if you are interested in getting your hands on any of this, let me know.
The stamp used on this card was from this month's kit from
Unity Kit of the Month. The sentiment is from my Papertrey Ink Mixed Messages set. (Another one of my favs.) I also used some crystal effects on the flower petals. It's hard to see in the photo, but IRL it adds that extra touch......take my word for it.
and...............
not only is this month's kit amazing, but Angela is running a special right now on new members to the Kit of the Month Club..........
You can get your choice of a free set. She has picked 5 of Unity's other wonderful sets for you to choose your free gift from.
Check it out.....
I've been a kit club member since it started back in June or something and I have not been disappointed in a kit yet!

Wednesday already!!!???

This weeks Unity Addicts Challenge comes to us from Jessy.

It was a pretty easy one - make a Get Well card - she hasn't been feeling well along with so many others hit by the flu this winter. Had it myself a couple of weeks ago - not fun.

Anyway - here is what I came up with. The sentiment is from Unity Floral Fantastical and the butterfly is from last months Kit of the Month. The pearls are some Martha Stewart embellishments that I found at a local Wal-mart.
The paper................ooooohhhh, the paper. I have just found my absolute favorite designer paper! This stuff is gorgeous. The patterns are beautiful and the paper is textured and a little heavier than the regular designer paper.
Love it, love it, love it! I'll be buying more of this stuff for sure.
It's SU Parisian Breeze Specialty Series. (It's on page 158 in the catalog.)
It's a must have - really! You will be seeing more of this in my creations for sure!!
Plaids, florals, polka dots in chocolate chip, baja breeze, kraft, and white - perfect for those of you who are hooked to your Kraft papers! It's double-sided!!

Let me know if you are interested in getting your hands on some. I am ordering more and would also be willing to split up a pack or two into some 6x6 sets. Shoot me an email if you are interested.

It's Wednesday.........that means Unity Challenge & Mojo Monday 74

It's Wednesday Challenge time and I had the creative time to put something together this week.........barely.
Below is the challenge photo that Amy offered up this week. Isn't it fun!!?? So bright and cheery, makes me long for Spring!!
Above is my take on the photo. I dug out some DCWV paper that had almost all of the colors from the photo in it. The stamp is my Unity Love & Meaning that I have used before and will, for sure, use lots more. I again left off the sentiment and only stamped the flowers. The cardstock is PTI Lemon Tart and SU Bashful Blue & Pumpkin Pie. It's hart to tell in the photo, but the flowers are "glitzed" up a little with some Martha Stewart glitters. The sentiment is from my PTI Mixed Messages set.
That's it!! Make sure you check out the other ladies' creations. The links to their blogs are at the right.............
P.S. - This card also "works" for Mojo Monday!! Two birds, one stone. Gotta use my time wisely ya know! :)

Hangover post..........

I had to use this Bittersweet patterned paper from Basic Grey again, I just love it!! I partially stamped the Growing in Unity tree sideways and put some more of the puffy heart stickers (K & Company) through it. The cardstock is SU Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, and Whisper White. The ribbon is also SU - chocolate chip grossgrain.
A little secret, this was originally my Wednesday Challenge card, but I had forgotten buttons, so i saved it for Friday!!
Have a great weekend!!

Unity Wednesday - Flourish Heart

This Wednesday's Unity Challenge comes to us from Carol. She challenged us to make a Valentine card using a non-valentine stamp with some ribbon and buttons. This is what I came up with. I used the small flourish heart from Unity's Kit of the Month for October on this small card. The designer paper is Bittersweet from Basic Grey and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up! The little white hearts are from a set of puffy sticker hearts from K & Co. that I picked up at Walmart and the button was in my stash. Sorry this is such a short post, I am exhausted and need to keep it short tonight. Thanks for stopping by!!

I really, really like these clean, simple style cards. This stamp set from Stampin' Up! is a perfect set for cards like this. It' called Pocket Silhouettes. For this card I used a white base with some SU Black and River Rock. Matted the image and paper pierced the corners, added black ribbon and that's it. It is a very simple yet rich looking card. You could use this set to make some very nice card sets for friends, teachers, etc. Any sentiments would fit these images. It is a very versatile set of stamps for sure.
Well, off the get homework done before the big game. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
