I've had this stamp set for months, but have not used it until today........what's wrong with me???? This set is so adorable!!! It's Unity's Middle School Madness created by Jenn Erickson. It is the perfect set for young stampers. Anyway, I thought these stamps from the set would make a cute Valentine (or even Anniversary) card. The notebook paper is from some SU DSP called Hand Drawn. I used my little spiral punch from SU to make it look like genuine notebook paper. I used Ruby Red, Baja Breeze, Black, and Whisper White cardstock - all from SU too. The U + Me sentiment is my own, the TLA is part of the stamp set. Make sure you click on the stamp set link and check this set out - there are over 30 stamps in this one set!
Have a great night & thanks for stopping by!!

Love you much...........
Here is another card I got time to put together using my Stampin' Up! Love You Much set. (Check the post below for the link to this set.) The sentiment and background are both from stamps in this set. I used SU Blush Blossom, Black, and Whisper White. Pretty simple actually. Added a few hearts in the corner with a rhinestone heart and some black ribbon. That's it! Hope to be back tomorrow or Wednesday with a Unity Challenge post. See ya later!

All My Love
Well, it warmed up a little earlier in the week and as the weekend hit, the temperature took another nose dive. Of course it will get colder when we have hockey games to attend. Like it's not cold enough in most of the rinks already!!!
Anyway, I got some time tonight to post a card I made earlier this week using the Stampin' Up! Love You Much stamp set and a sentiment from my Unity January Kit of the Month, Love, etc. I used SU blush blossom, close to cocoa, and chocolate chip. The designer paper is also SU and is from the Candy Lane DSP that you can get as a bundle for a great deal until the end of the month. Ask me about the details on this. I added a few rhinestones to the heart that was stamped in white and some chocolate chip ribbon. This card works great for not only Valentine's Day, but an anniversary or just because.
Have a great night and thanks for stopping by!!

It's Friday!! HHH, not so hung over........
Here is a little 3 x 3 card set I made using more of the DP from Basic Grey Stella Ruby. I'm trying to use up every last little scrap of this paper. I love it! I recently got a really great deal on a bunch of Martha Stewart ribbon on sale for $.99 per roll. I think I bought at least one of every color in the clearance bin. They just happened to match the PTI cardstock I used on these little cards. The flower and butterfly images are from Unity Spunky Princess and the sentiments are from PTI Mixed Messages. The images were colored in with my SU markers to match. That's it..........enjoy your weekend!!

Back to Wednesday Already...........
Here we are again at Wednesday and another Unity Wednesday Challenge. This weeks challenge comes from Maria and it was a fun one. No card this week, a bookmark is what she wanted to see from us.
Mine is pretty simple and my inspiration was the designer paper more than anything. I have been trying to use more of my scraps and I love this paper and the colors in it (It's Basic Grey Stella Ruby). I used one of my Unity Giggle Grove trees and the Distressed Dots Background. The sentiment is from one of my Kits of the Month. The base of the bookmark is kraft and Lemon Tart cardstock from PTI. Ink is Chocolate Chip. That's it, pretty simple!! Enjoy your day and don't forget about Hip Hop Thursday!!
I was too tired to link up anything, so if you need more of the details, just drop me a line!

Hip Hoppin' Hangover
Back around again to another Friday. Where are the days going??? I'm running out of time off here - classes start up again next Thursday. My last semester, yay!! Anyhow, here is my hangover creation. If you can't tell, I'm a big fan of Unity and an even bigger fan of one of their artists - Lisa Hetrick! This flower is another one of her creations. Isn't it cute?? I used the colors Black and Soft Sky together - I love this combination. The DP is some of the retired SU Soft Sky DSP. The stamp is Scrappy Flower and is nice and big for cards or scrapbook pages. Lots of potential in this one!! I added some glitter, a black ribbon, and some dew drops. That's it!!
Now I need to psyche myself up for the weekend.............we've had sub-zero temperatures and my son has a hockey tournament and we will be at the rink for 4 games. Need to buy some of those feet and hand warmers for sure!!! Brrrrrr.

Hip Hop Challenge
I usually don't get a chance to partake in the challenges that are offered up on Hip Hop Thursday, but I did tonight. This one is for the birthday card challenge. This is the super big cupcake stamp from Unity - Big Polka Dot Cupcake. The DP is from Black Market - isn't it delish?? I got the paper pad from Gina K - this is the Lucky in Love pad. Chocolates, greens, browns, so yummy! The sentiment is from a PTI set I have called Mixed Messages. I used my scallop edge punch from SU and the double scallop Martha Stewart punch I have on the trim. Doesn't this cupcake look so good you could eat it up??

Unity Wednesday - Stampin' on the inside......
Here is my Wednesday Challenge card for this week. I used my Love & Meaning Unity single stamp for the first time. This could pass for a Valentine or a Just Because card. The challenge came to us from Sara this week and she wanted to see everyone do something with the inside of the card. Fun, Fun!! I don't usually put anything on the inside, but should really get into the habit because I like the way this came out.
I started by using my SU markers and only inking up the flowers on the stamp because I knew I wanted to save the sentiment for the inside. The designer paper is from the new yummy Candy Cane Lane DSP packet available from SU right now. There is a lot of great paper in this set with flowers, stripes, pinks, reds.......it's a must have. Check out the Love You Much Promotion. It's a great deal.

The "love" on the front is part of the love you sentiment in an SU set I have. I used SU ruby red and Close to Cocoa with the DSP and stamped on Whisper White with a little sponging.
Oh yeah...........the artist on this Unity stamp - Lisa Hetrick!!

It's HHH .............Hip Hop Hangover.......
Well, I did not get to participate much in Hip Hop yesterday, but I did get to put together a card for Hangover Friday.
This one also works for the Color Throwdown Challenge this week. Mellow Moss, Baja Breeze, and Vanilla. The trees are from Unity Kit of the Month for September. The background is the flourish from the December KOTM. (I love this little stamp, can't you tell?)

Unity Wednesday..........we're back!!
After a short break for the holidays, the Unity Wednesday Gang is back!! So is Hip Hop Thursday. Make sure you stop by - big changes this year at Unity!!
This weeks challenge was offered up by yours truly. Going along with my 2009 motto and the fact that everyone has been so busy, I decided to keep it simple and put up a SLIM Challenge:
Sometimes
Less
Is
More
In this weeks challenge, the less on your card, the better. A card base, and image, a sentiment, and one embellishment. That's it.
Above and below are close ups of two of the 4 cards to the set I came up with. I used my Humble Bloom set from Unity and stamped with my SU Markers.
Here is the whole set of thank you cards. Can you see the sunshine I put in each corner? They are actually each of the flowers in the set stamped in yellow. Cute huh? The sentiments come from various Unity sets as well. On each card I added an embellishment for a little dimension and voila!!

Mojo Monday
Now that I have some stamping time (at least until my classes start up again in a couple of weeks), I can participate in some sketch challenges. Today, I put something together for Mojo Monday.
I've had this Verve Stamps Black Tie Birdie set since I won it months ago in another challenge and I had not used them yet. They were calling out to me, so here is what I came up with. The colors I used are SU Bashful Blue and Apricot Appeal. The background on the blue is the flourish stamp from my Unity Kit of the Month for December. I added some ribbon and some rhinestones and used a basic black cardstock for accent. Pretty simple!
I'm behind on posting to my gallery, so that is what I'll be doing the rest of the night! Thanks for stopping by!

Just a couple of things......
First, if you missed the thread, I randomly selected a winner from all of the wonderful comments left for me last week for my Growing in Unity Week. The winner was arlsmom (aka Lynda)!! She knows what she has to do!
This week be sure to check out the next lady in line - Kerry. Be sure to stop by her blog and comment for a chance to win again with Unity.
Second, I wanted to spread the word about this new blog that has been created. It is called The Daily Dare.
Four talented ladies have just made it easier for all of you who enjoy challenges and card sketches each week to find them. Just stop by this blog and they put links to them all in one convenient place. That does not mean you can't stop by all of these blogs, but this makes it so much easier to see what's going on for the week. Plus, I'm sure there will be much more in the near future.
With that, I am going to try out one of these sketch challenges and hope to be back to post my creation later! See ya!

Last Day...........
Well, I can't believe it is Friday already and the end of my Week in Unity. I will be drawing a name from all comments from the week tomorrow night and I will post it in the Unity Forum then. Winner gets a free single of their choice from Unity!! I give the deets on that in the post then.
My last post of the week is a super simple set made with Unity's Gratitude = Joy kit. It really does not get much simpler than this, great stamps and paper, no layers, no DP, no embellishments. I think it is a great way to showcase what a beautiful set this is. And it just so happens one of the sentiments that comes with the set is "simplicity".
I used some SU Whisper White cardstock and my SU markers to ink the stamps. Added some sentiments and that's it. This makes a nice little card set to gift or to just have on hand for yourself.
I've had so much fun this week posting my Unity creations and just want to thank everyone who has stopped by and left such wonderful comments!

Winding down to Day 4
As promised, a double post today!! This is a 5 x 5 card on white cardstock using some Heidi Grace designer paper I picked up while Christmas shopping a few weeks ago called Daydream Believer. It actually, IRL, has a pretty shimmer to it that the camera did not pick up. The other cardstock used is SU Tangerine Tango & Groovy Guava. Added some buttons and black twine for extra touch. Finally, the stamp is from my Unity Kit of the Month for December and this particular stamp was designed by the one and only Lisa Hetrick! (Her little tribute to Brooke, he he).
If you have not checked this out yet, Unity offers up a new kit every month that you can get for $24 + shipping if you sign up - details here.
I have been a club member since the very first kit and let me tell you, they just keep getting better and better!!!
Right now, Angela is offering up a great deal for signing up, check it out on the Unity Blog. You can see January's kit here too!
Have a super night and I'll be posting my last day of Unity All Week tomorrow evening!! See you then!!

Day 3 a day late..........
Better late than never - here is my Day 3 post for Unity All Week.
My personal "theme" for 2009 is SIMPLICITY. I'm tired of the complicated and the difficult and just really want simplicity. This is an altered wooden tag from one of my Unity purchases from this past year. If you are already a Unity customer, you know what these are. If you are not, click here to see a sample. (Then go buy some stamps from them!! I promise you won't be disappointed!)
I have several of these hanging around and thought I would alter one to hang in my office with my motto on it.
The designer paper is some Basic Grey Stella Ruby. I stamped the Distressed Dots Butterflies from Unity September Kit of the Month & the flourish from Unity December Kit of the Month in SU Chocolate Chip ink. The butterflies are in SU Ruby Red, Mellow Moss, and So Safron to match the DP. The hanger is just some pretty brown organza ribbon.
Back later with more.............
P.S. - I just noticed that I will be reaching 5,000 hits tonight!!!! I'll be doing some blog candy to celebrate on Monday - be sure to check back then!!!
